  • Is ZMBT a good accelerator?
  • Can be used in almost all types of rubber products except those in contact with food, as the rubber products after vulcanization develop bitter taste. ZMBT is a fast accelerator. More suitable for latex than NR, BR and SBR as primary accelerator in combination with ZDMC and ZDEC. Latex filmed cured with ZMBT has significantly higher modulus.

  • MBTS can be used as fast accelerator in NR, IR, BR, SBR, NBR and EPDM. Secondary accelerators are usually required for synthetic rubbers. Having critical curing temperature higher than MBT, MBTS can prevent premature curing and scorching.

  • The cure characteristics, rubber crosslink density and mechanical properties were the focus in the present study. It is observed that the synergistic effect of the MBTS/DPG combination imparts the shortest scorch time, highest cure rate and highest crosslink density compared with the MBTS/ZMBT and MBTS/ZMBT/DPG combinations.
