  • Antioxidant TMQ is a widely used antioxidant, especially used in the rubber industry. Similar to other antioxidants, TMQ acts as an anti-aging agent and protects rubber from heat and heat. Antioxidants are substances that hinder oxidation. Antioxidants play a role in protecting the polymer from degradation during the production of rubber.

  • 3.2.2. Reactor model The TMQ as well as its by-products is produced following the reactions described in Section 2 in a reactor. In the reactor model, the equations of chemical reactions and the phase equilibrium in two or more phases are formulated and solved by using the dynamic method ( Zinser et al., 2016 ).

  • The synthesis reactions of TMQ are carried out in both two phases. All compounds including the reactants, products and the solvent are transferred between extraction and raffinate phase driven by the difference of chemical potential. Fig. 8.
